Landon's Health in the past year

MRI...ugh! I'm glad there is no pic of me, not so attractive with mascara running. How are you suppose to sleep with all of this on.

I would like to thank a few people, a vendor through work knowing a person that had a grandchild that was a little person along with some of the blogs and the yahoo group I probably wouldn’t have known about half the medical stuff that needed to be done for Landon. So thank you to all.

In the past year we have been through a sleep study (which is common) however, Landon has sleep apnea. He stopped breathing 32 times through the night which 5-7 of those times his oxygen levels had dropped. These test results lead us to an MRI to check his Foreman Magnum (FM). I was a ball of nerves that day, for a test that was suppose to take like ½ hour was more like 2 hours therefore I cried for 1 ½ hours. The results from the MRI came back great. They did not see any compression. Landon ended up on a sleep monitor for about 3 months and then we had the data transferred to the doctor and he did not see a single episode through those three months so they took him off the machine. Depending on how you look at that it is good but the reassurance of knowing if something happens is gone.

Landon also has Kyphosis (again common) and is seen every three months for x-rays of his spine. The results from the last set of x-rays were great his Kyphosis had improved therefore the bracing talk was put off for a while longer, keeping fingers crossed that we will not have to brace him.

Other than the emotional roller coaster for me the last year we have been very blessed with Landon’s health. He has only had 3 ear infections which I believe was due to his teething which caused sinus issues…what a cause and affect situation.

What a great 3rd child he is, so easy going. Landon has been an absolute trooper through Logan’s football season and spending every Sunday at the fields, then the all day wrestling tournaments that he sweated through and Torie’s gymnastics classes where he continuously yelled at her.
Landon’s brother and sister love him very much, I’m not so sure that Torie understands that she is his sister and not his mother but we are working on that.

This is a whole new world for us and has been a blessing in more ways than one, Thank you god for these three blessings.
